Man Arrested For Impersonating An Officer In Crofton: Police

CROFTON, MD — A Baltimore man has been arrested and faces numerous charges including impersonating a police officer. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, on June 16 at approximately 8:10 p.m., a man reported being assaulted while serving divorce papers. He was wearing tactical gear labeled "court process agent," along with body armor, an empty holster, pistol magazines, three pairs of handcuffs and pepper spray. When police officers began questioning the man, he took off but was apprehended. Officers also found an unloaded Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun in the man's black 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, reported the Anne Arundel County Police Department. A woman informed police that the man had attempted to serve her a subpoena for a divorce case, then pursued her through the neighborhood with flashing blue lights in his vehicle. She tried to drive around him, which led the man to call officers for assistance, according to the police report.
