(Picture attached is for our Chinese-speaking candidates) Katharsis is the Bay Area’s newest professional cleaning service, and is currently hiring two new cleaners. We are wholly woman-owned and operated, and we have a particular commitment to providing employment and support to women who have recently experienced abuse. If you are ready and able to start making the world a cleaner, better place, we are interested in hiring you! Initially, work will be part-time and as-needed, but we are currently working on acquiring long-term partners who will need our services regularly, and we hope to be able to provide full-time work soon. As an early hire, you would have high potential for future raises and promotion. Qualifications: If you are a good cleaner, we are interested in you! Everyone at our company has a different history--some of us have master’s degrees, and some didn’t graduate from high school. We are a sisterhood dedicated to breaking the stigma around cleaning--it’s an art form, and each artist has her own, different past. Many of our clients are Chinese-speaking, so preferably one of the two positions will be given to a Mandarin or Cantonese speaker. Hiring preference will also be given to people who are trying to move on from recent abusive situations. Car required. Job responsibilities: A company representative will assess each job before sending cleaners to it. You will be provided with all tools and products necessary for the job. Our goal is to make the world a better place by helping both our employees and our clients--our clients depend on us to make their homes better and more beautiful, and we hope that you will clean for our clients as carefully and conscientiously as if you were cleaning for your sick grandmother. We will expect you to attend a quick and easy, but very important, training session before your first job. While on the job, you should always wear our company T-shirt and a pair of khaki pants. We are currently experimenting with finding the best collection of cleaning products, and we will often ask you to try out a new product and report back on its effectiveness. Ultimately, we hope to develop our own branded line of products, and you can help us with that process. Compensation: Under our current business model, you will initially be paid a trainee flat rate of $39 for each hour at the job site for the first two months. After you have worked with us for two months, you will receive an automatic raise to $50/hour. As you become more senior, you will start to receive a higher hourly rate, up to a possible maximum of $100/hour. Ultimately, we hope to begin employing some people full-time, and make promotion to management available.
