'Light Up Crofton' Event Dec. 13 Transforms Area Into Wonderland

CROFTON, MD — The community is invited to light up the night Dec. 13 with a luminary kit from Troop 758. On Dec. 13, Crofton residents are encouraged to line the neighborhood with the candle luminaries between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Organizers are calling the event "Light Up Crofton." The luminary kits must be ordered by Dec. 5. Each kit contains the supplies to create 10 luminaries, specifically 10 white bags with 10 2-inch votive candles, sand and instructions. Organizers suggest one kit for every 20 to 30 feet. Participating residents are asked to line the street in front of their house Dec. 13 and if possible, their driveways and walkways, too. The luminaries should be placed three feet apart and candles should be lit by 5:30 p.m.
