Press release from Connecticut House Democrats: April 4, 2022 State Representative Mary Mushinsky (D- Wallingford) commends the inclusion of $1 million in state funding on the State Bond Commission's agenda for renovations to the Wallingford YMCA. These funds will go towards the installation of a new playscape, construction of an Aquatics Center, and handicap accessibility enhancements. The funds, which will be disbursed through the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), received approval from the State Bond Commission during its meeting on Thursday, March 31. "The YMCA has long been an institution here in Wallingford, serving generations of families," said Rep. Mushinsky. "These funds will allow for significant improvements and enhancements to be made so that all members of our community can continue to enjoy the many health-promoting activities the YMCA has to offer for years to come. I thank the State Bond Commission, Governor Lamont, and my colleagues in the Wallingford delegation for their support of this project."
