Press release from the City of Iowa City: March 31, 2022 The Office of Equity & Human Rights is hiring an hourly student intern. The tentative duration of the internship is August 2022 through December 2022 with variable daytime hours totaling 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The wage is $15 per hour. The internship will include assisting in the creation of materials to promote awareness of the City's racial equity, social justice, and fair housing initiatives; assisting in the publication of The Lens - a monthly racial equity and social justice newsletter - through researching and writing stories and incorporating visuals through photography and graphic design; creating content for the Office of Equity & Human Rights Instagram page; and assisting in the promotion of upcoming events. Minimum Qualifications Candidates considered must be attending an educational institution accredited by a Department of Education-recognized accreditation body. Candidates considered will need: Skills in data entry, Microsoft Office, and graphic design software, such as Canva. Proficient communication and writing skills.
