Description
LINCOLN, RI — This week's planned walk in honor of National Walking Day will be postponed due to forecasted rainstorms, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management announced Monday.
The walk was originally planned for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Woods State Park. It will now be held April 20.
The walk is designed for all ages and physical abilities, and will be the first of the department's new initiative encouraging Rhode Islanders to visit the state's parks and green spaces to foster an active, healthy lifestyle, the DEM said.
Leashed dogs will be allowed as long as the leash is six feet or shorter. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and the walk will be accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.
