"While the course of COVID-19 remains unclear, we will continue to provide virtual programs to the community at pgparks.com," says Bill Tyler, Director of The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation. "We look forward to the day when a full array of in-person programs can be offered again safely, without limitations. Until then, we will offer the Online Resource Center as a way of meeting socially distant programming needs," concludes Tyler. The Department continues to offer several free virtual activities for residents to live more, play more indoors: Technique Tuesdays – Watch and learn as athletic instructors show you how to refine your skills in sports like volleyball, futsal, and boxing. Wellness Wednesdays – Follow along as fitness instructors lead classes in areas like yoga, stretching, and core control. Music Theory and Vocal Technique – Refresh your memory of music 101 while sharpening those vocal cords. Introduction to Improvisational Theatre – Grab a teammate and take a virtual trip to Broadway with this basic acting skills course. Dance & Choreography – If you want to burn calories but hate the gym, this is the series for you. Warm-up, learn a complete dance routine, then cool down with this 7-day lesson.
