Re-Homing Cane Corso

Description

It is with great sadness we must re-home our 10-month-old black/brindle Cane Corso. We brought him into our home with great expectations which he was falling into quite well. However, I have been diagnosed with a severe and potentially terminal illness and between Dr./Hospital stays and lack of energy in between, we are no longer are able to give him the attention, training and socialization he needs at this stage. It breaks our hearts! We will be very selective in making sure he goes to the right family for him and yourself. If you haven’t heard of this breed, they are very large, heavily muscled dog originally bred to be instinctively protective. We have not raised him in this manner as we wanted a loving family pet but he will still need a strong experienced owner that can put him in his place when need be and not let him run the house. About Bruno… He’s a big boy (currently around 100 lbs of pure muscle and density will get to be between 130-150 lbs fully grown). He is very smart, very strong and VERY energetic and athletic. He is friendly with everyone and knows basic obedience commands when on leash. He is highly active and would be most happy with someone to take him on walks or runs daily. A fenced yard will be required, as he needs the space to get some energy out. He is an indoor family member and should only be considered if he is to be. He loves to snuggle! He constantly craves attention, leaning on someone, putting his head in their lap or just seeing what you’re doing. He has shown no aggression towards other dogs. (He has not had interactions with cats but loves to chase and demolish any small stuffed toys. also keep in mind that he is 100lbs of puppy energy and could easily knock over a child). He rarely barks, so the most ‘guard dog’ you will probably get from him is his size and stature and the occasional WOOF when a stranger comes to the door. He is housebroken, but still needs some more confidence around strangers as he does piddle a bit with excitement now and then when meeting new people. He does not chew furniture, decks or stairs... but loves to grab pieces of paper, potholders and towels when you turn your back. He loves car rides and does great in the back seat of the car with an insert. Bruno is up to date on all shots but will need them again in July. Vet records are available. He is also intact, so will need to be neutered soon as well. He does not have papers. To ensure a good home there will be a firm re-homing fee of 500 that will also include his XXL Indoor kennel, XL Doggie door that fits a standard sliding glass door, XXL dog bed, back seat car cover and barrier, electric training collar, training vest, collar and lead, short lead, Heartworm medication, bulk food and water dishes, various bones and toys. Let us know if you think he would be a good fit for you.
