Our new, state-of-the art aeroponic greenhouse is actively seeking a full-time greenhouse assistant. Position: 32 to 40 hrs./week Wage: $13/hr-15/hr. start based on experience. The assistant will work with GH Manager to maintain (but not limited to) the following: • Daily upkeep of greenhouse/office functions • Understanding/following organic practices used for produce and seedling procedures • Maintaining equipment management schedules (sanitation, various cleaning details, etc.) • Greenhouse maintenance schedules • Weekly pH/EC readings for all water sources • Data entry for all recordkeeping • Plant health • Pests in greenhouse production • Plant grow cycles/seeding/harvesting cycles • Marketing (farmer’s market/events) • Packaging and produce storage • Seeding • Harvesting • Planting • Setting work schedules/filling in for staff • Working with children/volunteers • Flexibility Applicant must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. with a full range of motion, work outdoors/indoors for extended periods of time, can tolerate heat/humid environments, standing for extended periods of time. Basic plant knowledge is a must, 2-3 years’ experience is preferred. Working on occasional weekend(s) to assist with events/markets. Effective communication and teambuilding are crucial as we work with many volunteers and children in our work program who depend on our leadership. *90-day trial period for all new hires
