With over 30 years’ experience in residential roofing, and voted El Dorado County's best roofer, Garner Roofing, Inc. is expanding rapidly in Sacramento County and surrounding areas. We are seeking a Residential Roofing Superintendent. The primary responsibility of the position will report to and work closely with the General Manager to help guide, support and train the roofing installation teams. The Residential Roofing Superintendent is responsible for providing supportive leadership to the roofing field staff to ensure the safe practice, successful planning, and completion of roofing projects in accordance with contract documents, in a quality manner, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with Garner Roofing Inc.’s Core Values. RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide oversight and expertise in the design and planning of roofing projects to ensure quality, timely and cost-effective construction • Create and manage the overall site logistics requirements in conjunction with project schedule and local jurisdictions • Study and evaluate contract drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to fully understand design criteria and successfully complete the project build • Lead the scheduling process to include creating the preliminary schedule, finalizing the project schedule, and maintaining/updating the schedule throughout the project • Ensure that field records are being properly maintained • Consistently review schedule(s) and confirm key project delivery dates to ensure on time completion of the roofing project • Monitor progress to ensure agreed upon milestone dates and client expectations are met • Assign, supervise, and mentor field staff in the successful completion of duties • Actively participate in the development and promotion of project safety requirements and programs in compliance with OSHA safety standards with proper implementation and documentation of safety practices and procedures • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance programs for all aspects of construction roofing in conjunction with project staff • Establish and manage the punch list process to ensure quality assurance goals are met • Represent Garner Roofing and its sister company, Infinite Energy Home Services, in a professional manner at all times • Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates • Facilitate weekly tailgate meetings with crew leads • Reinforce a culture of team players helping each other and creating an environment of camaraderie • Ensure all crews follow state and federal employment laws while following company policy • Conduct truck reports and spot checks every week • Work with crew leads on closing out jobs and collecting payment • Resolve customer issues or concerns to ensure complete satisfaction • Perform clerical duties for field technician paperwork, personnel evaluations QUALIFICATIONS • 3 years Roofing experience preferably as a Residential Roofing Foreman, Field Superintendent or Manager • 5 years installation and journeyman roofer experience Strong attention to detail with an analytical aptitude • Thorough knowledge of construction scheduling principals and current code requirements with the ability to lead and direct project scheduling • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a complex operating environment • Ability to collaborate by hearing other perspectives and contribute to problem resolution • Ability to work independently • Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV report is an absolute MUST • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 80 lbs • Computer literate w/ a proficiency in Microsoft Office and proficiency or ability to learn Phoenix scheduling software • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills • Understanding of accounting and finance as it relates to the industry • Fluency speaking in English and Spanish is a PLUS ENVIRONMENT This position takes place in the field as well as in the office. It involves hazardous work conditions that require protective equipment and training that conforms to OSHA and applicable State Agency regulations. Some physical discomfort due to weather, dust, and noise may occur.
