The Roofing Estimator is responsible for estimating and bidding roofing projects and ensuring that all operations related to the projects are in line with project estimates. Additionally, this person will manage all personnel and projects within the Roofing Division. RESPONSIBILITIES Review the scope of work and project specifications Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documents Prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products, projects, or services Organize product information, shop drawings and samples for submittals Brief superintendents and team on scope of work Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to resolve issues Secure and purchase required equipment/ material process as required Assist management in cost reduction and process improvements Pursue potential business Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine reasons for discrepancies Provide improvement recommendations to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs Maintain accurate, complete, and organized files Assist the production department in scheduling and coordinating jobs Process manufacturer warranties Perform final walk-through with owner or building manager Review jobs after close-out to determine overall job performance Coordinate with Corporate Safety Engineer to ensure all safety compliances are in order Ensure that weekly Toolbox Talks are performed in the field and documented Ensure equipment safety checklists are completed weekly for all mechanized equipment use Design a roof system QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant education preferred Closely related responsibilities OR any combination of education or 5 years of relevant experience required Extensive knowledge of various roofing systems, materials, construction processes and theories Organized and proficient with keeping logs Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to multi-task with an array of diverse duties Knowledge of word processing and Microsoft Excel software, Adobe Ability to manage task independently and within short time constraints Verbal and written communication skills Local travel to jobsites and off-site meetings required Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to15 pounds Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities, and jobsites BENEFITS Health, vision, dental insurance benefits after 90 days of employment 6 major holidays paid Birthday and Veterans' Day paid off Up to 1 month paid vacation every year 401k match after 1 year of employment Cell phone reimbursement Company vehicle, laptop and iPad provided
