CATONSVILLE, MD — The coronavirus has caused the cancellation of so many events and activities, but Frederick Road Fridays will not fall victim to the global pandemic. Because the nonprofit partners who provide services to the community rely on the funding generated by Frederick Road Fridays, organizers knew they couldn't cancel the summer-long event this year. So it is alive and thriving online instead. Thanks to the willingness of local bands, Frederick Road Fridays has morphed into a live Facebook event. Organizers are encouraging everyone to "band" together to fight against the pandemic and ensure that the events Catonsville residents know and love do not fade away, like Frederick Road Fridays, the Sunday Farmer's Market and Arts Festival. Follow the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce on Facebook and click "going" on the events. Anyone from around the world can tune in and watch. Each event post shares information about the bands, the nonprofits benefiting from the concerts and the sponsors who help make the events possible. People can show support by donating through Venmo and PayPal.
