The “Mind, Brain, and Body” study, developed by researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to examine how early life experiences influence physical and emotional health throughout childhood and adolescence, has transitioned to an online format! The research team, headed by Dr. Bridget Callaghan, Assistant Professor of Psychology, hopes this study will build new and needed knowledge on child development!. The UCLA Brain & Body Lab is currently enrolling families with children aged 6-9 and 13-16 years of age for its Mind, Brain, and Body multi-year study exploring the ways early life experiences influence physical and emotional health across child and adolescent development! Sessions with researchers will involve playing computer games, completing surveys, and giving (optional) biological samples - all from the comfort of your home! Through our research, we hope to build new and needed knowledge of child development! The research experience will take approximately 1-2 hours in which you’ll log onto a Zoom session with a researcher as well as a second brief session one week later. All participants will receive $45-$65 for participating and your child will also get toys and prizes! The lab investigates how early experiences influence interactions between the brain and the body, contributing to mental and physical health.
