$3K Sign On Bonus! Interested candidates apply using this link: Arcosa Specialty Materials is searching for an Equipment Technician Lead for our Carson City, NV plant. In this role you will support a positive safety culture and direct maintenance activities within a manufacturing and open pit mining operation that is regulated by MSHA safety standards. As an Equipment Technician Lead, you will lead and direct the maintenance team in the maintenance and repair of all areas of plant operations, including production and manufacturing, crushing, and heavy equipment mechanics. You will use small power tools and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks and determine causes of operating problems in areas including, but not limited to, electrical systems and components, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and diesel equipment. Arcosa Specialty Materials is a leading producer and distributor in the Western and Southwestern U.S. of lightweight and natural aggregates, including expanded shale and clay, crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other products. What You'll Do: • Ensure that the maintenance team complies with all company, industry, safety and environmental rules, procedures, and applicable government regulations. • Direct the maintenance team and equipment/machine operators with proper techniques of preventative and predictive maintenance of equipment. - Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. - Direct and/or perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on production and heavy mining equipment such as motors, conveyers, mechanical components, and electrical wiring and components. • Keep accurate and detailed records of equipment failures and repairs. • Perform and/or direct welding and fabrication work. • Attend scheduled departmental and safety meetings. • Perform and/or participate in equipment and workplace inspections. • Demonstrate initiative, accuracy and thoroughness. • Participate in staff development and evaluation (including training; motivation; counseling; and documentation of skills/performance). • Participate in investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents or infractions. • Maintain spare parts inventory of frequently replaced items. • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with your team and other employees. -Perform other duties as assigned by management. What You'll Need: • Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance. • The ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required, and occasionally lift weights up to 60 pounds. • At least 5+ years’ experience as an equipment or maintenance technician, diesel mechanic, or related fields, preferably in construction or mining environment, preferably with lead or supervisory experience. - Excellent leadership and communication skills. -Proficient skills in General Maintenance, Lubrication, Welding, and Diagnostics. • Ability to problem solve, set priorities, and determine best methods and procedures. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals, labels, blueprints and schematics. -Ability to use a computer. -Ability to complete and organize documentation associated with job. • Willingness and ability to work overtime hours. • Willingness to follow directions and work effectively with management. • MSHA certification (we will train). • The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy) and perform duties in areas with regular exposure to moderate to loud noise levels, fine dust, vibration and moving mechanical parts.
