SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Businesses operating in unincorporated Santa Cruz County can apply for permits to expand into outdoor parking spaces.
Restaurants and retailers may expand into adjacent parking lots and street parking spots, the county announced Tuesday in a news release. Businesses must ensure physical distancing standards are met and health protocols are observed.
Temporarily permits are now available from the Santa Cruz County Planning Department and permit fees will be waived through 2020. Permits will be good for 180 days.
Restaurants selling alcohol will have to clear their eligibility to serve drinks outdoors with the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, according to the county.
