WATSONVILLE, CA — Watsonville police continue to investigate a multi-injury crash Thursday morning that has forced an hours-long closure of Freedom Boulevard.
Watsonville police issued an advisory shortly before 7 a.m. about the crash and closure between Lincoln and Stanford streets.
According to a preliminary report from police, a white SUV was trying to make an illegal U-turn on Freedom Boulevard near Prospect Street when a black SUV crashed into it.
The black SUV then smashed into a building and a parked car. Two people were inside the parked car that was launched about 75 feet and into a light pole, Watsonville police said.
Occupants in all involved vehicles were taken to local hospitals with various injuries, but Watsonville police said all are in stable condition.
Freedom Boulevard between Lincoln and Stanford Streets was expected to reopen at about noon Thursday.
