Seeking Guitarist/Vocalist for Classic Rock Band
Meets
Germantown Avenue near Allens Lane, Philadelphia PA
Description
We are four amateur musicians (guitar, bass, drums, and keys/vox) seeking one more person to complete our band. We're looking for someone who can play rhythm guitar and split lead vocals with our keys player, especially in the higher ranges as he is a baritone to low tenor. If you also play some lead guitar or another instrument, that would be great, but our core need is for at least some rhythm guitar AND some lead vocals. We've been together for eight months, and practice at the drummer's home in Mt. Airy. We are all fully vaccinated. We're continuing to expand our set list, and are looking to play out once or twice a month at local bars, community events and similar venues. The songs we're playing right now are Absolutely Sweet Marie (Bob Dylan), An American Girl (Tom Petty), Bye Bye Love (The Cars), Cooler-N-Hell (Ray Wiley Hubbard), Dancing Barefoot (Patti Smith), Dead Flowers (Rolling Stones), Devil's Radio (George Harrison), Get Back (The Beatles), Get Over It (The Eagles), Heavy Fuel (Dire Straits), I Can't Explain (The Who), I Saw Her Standing There (The Beatles), I Won't Back Down (Tom Petty), I'm So Free (Lou Reed), Jean Genie (David Bowie), Jumpin' Jack Flash (Rolling Stones), Lady Madonna (The Beatles), Learn To Fly (Foo Fighters), Let's Work Together (Canned Heat), True Lies (Kenny Wayne Shepherd) and You Wreck Me (Tom Petty). We would welcome input in expanding our repertoire from whoever joins us. We're MUCH more concerned with finding someone who is compatible with us and genuinely interested in this project than with whether their musical skills and experience exactly match our own. Age and gender are unimportant (though we are all mature adults), and you don't need to play at a professional level. What's ESSENTIAL is that you: • are fully vaccinated • are collaborative, thoughtful, communicative and respectful • have a real desire to perform this kind of music • are competent with your voice/instrument beyond a beginner level • are available for rehearsals in Mt. Airy (weekly now, probably tapering off as we fill this role and become gig-ready) • show up reliably, and give advance notice when you can't be there • are willing to give and receive constructive criticism as well as appreciation • ask for what you want, hear what others are asking for, and be available to negotiate the difference If this connects with where you are musically and personally, we want to hear from you. Please tell us a little about yourself and how you see yourself fitting into this project - inquiries with just a name and phone number will not receive a reply.
