Whether you’re a home sewing enthusiast or an entrepreneur interested in starting your own line, these courses will guide you through the industry methods of sewing for fashion apparel. In this class you will learn: · How to set up a commercial sewing machine with the option to work on a commercial serger · Troubleshooting your machine · Basic sewing techniques for woven fabrics · Pressing techniques · Step-by-step instruction on sewing a pant including two types of pockets, topstitching, and hemming This class is tailored to meet students at various skill levels and there are opportunities for more advanced techniques to be introduced if time allows. Students will be able to work at their own pace and will have individualized instruction throughout. The Intro to Sewing is completed in a single 5-hr session. Materials: A sewing machine, fabric cutwork, and tools will be provided during the course.
