THE EVENT DETAILS: Where: Flatstick Pub - South Lake Union When: April 14th, 3pm - 6pm What: The release, launch, and celebration of a new IPA with Blood Orange called "It Takes All Types" made possible by a collaboration between Three Magnets Brewing Co. and Lucky Envelope Brewing. Who: EVERYONE, with a special note to the Culinary Coalition formed by Bloodworks Northwest. A community of cafes, wineries, restaurants, breweries, bars, chefs, food deliveries, restaurateurs, gourmands, farmers markets, bakeries — all taking a seat at the table for our local hospitals and patients by supporting blood donation. RSVPs are not required but appreciated! THE CAMPAIGN - SAVOR LIFE. SAVE A LIFE. Every two seconds, someone needs blood. Every day across the United States, 35,000 pints of blood are needed. Here locally in the Pacific Northwest, over 1,000 pints are needed every day to keep a healthy blood supply! That sounds like a big problem to solve. And it is. So what can YOU do about it? Well, let’s start with what we think WE can do about it? Well, we don't save lives, but we do create a community, support local breweries and organizations and have several wonderful pubs that act as a watering hole for so many. Chances are, that person you’re having a beer with has had their life—or someone they love—saved by blood donation. So when Bloodworks Northwest, Three Magnets Brewing Co. and Lucky Envelope Brewing spear headed this idea to brew a beer to raise awareness for the importance of a healthy blood supply, and get people talking about blood over a pint, we knew we had to be part of it! They say it takes a village, so this awesome red IPA, brewed with the region’s finest ingredients and blood red oranges could not be possible without a generous group of people and companies in the industry! Skagit Valley Malting near Bellingham donated grain, the lifeblood of beer. Imperial Yeast from Oregon donated yeast, the heart of fermenting ales. Cascadia Canning from Seattle contributed the sweat, canning and kegging the beer. Three Magnets Brewing Co. and Lucky Envelope Brewing teamed up to craft the beautiful and delicious IPA. THE BEERThis beer gives you a rich unique color and is a deep-flavored IPA to stand up to the blood orange added. The powerful red IPA was brewed with the region’s finest ingredients and blood red oranges.
