Description

The Between Me and You Program enhances DEI programs by focusing on improving the sorely needed inclusion communication gaps. Isn't it time that we all move past wanting to have "the conversation" and actually become inclusive? As human beings, our immutable differences and implicit bias naturally undermines our good-hearted intentions. Most DEI education programs are successful in creating inclusive policies and procedures that encourage an increase in diversity. But these programs fail to improve inclusivity, engagement, or retention that increases equity and acts of intentional inclusion. Why? Most DEI education focuses on the use of uncomfortable conversations to deliver understandings of our culturally and historically traumatic differences. In most cases, though, is perpetuates in/out groups, increased feelings of retaliation and toxic work environments, and increased staff turnover. Instead of focusing on what makes us different to improve our work relationships, which can be emotionally triggering and undermines the education, let us work on how to speak to each other in a trauma-informed manner which promotes the creation of a psychologically safe work environment through the use of these simple tools: emotional intelligence, cultural humility, and intercultural communication. This program is limited to 35 participants. For the cost of $35, which 100% of the proceeds go to the Found A Way Foundation, each participant will receive a trainer's program book and accompanying workbook, one (1) CEU, lunch catered by STAR Catering & Vending CO., and a certificate of completion from Found A Way Foundation. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The "Between Me and You" program is presented by Charles M.
