Dispatchers will learn de-escalation techniques, mental health conditions, and how to handle initial contact mental health crises. Dispatchers are often the first persons in contact with an individual with a mental health crisis or someone trying to help. Dispatcher-focused CIT training offers specific background, mental health information and de-escalation techniques that better equip the dispatcher to handle the initial contact to help the first responders and callers obtain the desired outcome. This is a two day training. This training will take place on Tuesday May 3,2022 and Wednesday May 4, 2022 from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. *Due to funding restraints this course is offered to first responders serving in Orange County, California only.
