Description

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Busy Mt. Diablo Boulevard was closed for some 2 hours Monday afternoon because of a fire at a motel on the street. Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters held the fire to one unit and quickly put out the flames in the 2000 block of Mount Diablo Boulevard, according to ConFire. No injuries were reported. The boulevard had to be closed because fire trucks blocked traffic. At one point, the City recommended avoiding the boulevard from Highway 24 to South California. The fire was reported shortly after 3 p.m. and traffic was again flowing before 5:30.
