Durant Film Looks At Why So Many NBA Stars Come From PG County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Kevin Durant, the NBA star who currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets, is producing a documentary that looks at why Prince George's County produces so many great basketball players, according to news reports. Durant's Thirty Five Ventures company is producing the documentary, entitled "In the Water," according to The Sports Business Journal. The film will focus on Durant and other players from PG County, such as University of Maryland standout Len Bias and Victor Olapido, the all-star guard for the Pacers. Other basketball talent that came from PG County include Markell Fultz, Jeff Green, Quinn Cook, and Ty Lawson. Durant grew up in PG County and played basketball at National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Maryland; Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; and Rockville's Montrose Christian School. He played one season at the University of Texas, before he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007. Showtime will air the documentary, according to Yahoo! Sports.
