Description

Hop on the trolley! UPDATE 4/2 NEW TROLLEY SEATS AVAILABLE. Sign up now! UPDATE 4/1: The Trolley is officially full! We are looking into a second trolley. In the meantime, please sign up for the wait list. Thanks for your interest!! -------------- This April, a number of religions' holy days (Ramadan, Passover, Easter, Vaisakhi and more) overlap for the first time since 1991, meaning that many Muslims, Jews, Christians, Baha’i, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists, and others will simultaneously be observing their spring holy days. This is an incredible opportunity to come together to educate our communities and shape the public narrative about what it means to live well together amidst our religious and cultural diversity and difference. A Center of Christian-Muslim Engagement for Peace and Justice at Lutheran School of Theology, American Islamic College, The Interreligious Institute at Chicago Theological Seminary and The Parliament of the World's Religions, along with Hyde Park Kenwood Interfaith Council are sponsoring a CHICAGO INTERFAITH TROLLEY TOUR on the afternoon/evening of April 24, 2022. With the help of a trolley, we plan to explore 5 sacred spaces in the Hyde Park/ Kenwood neighborhoods of Chicago, learning about April holy days as well as the collaborative interfaith work in the community. We then plan to end with an iftar meal hosted at CTS. (register seperately) Current stops and hosts include: University of Chicago Spiritual Life, Al Taqwa Mosque, Ebenezer Baptist Church, KAM Isaiah Israel, Claret Center
