Hello, I wanted to share with you some information about a new and exciting scholarship program that Vitalant is offering! Given the emergency need for convalescent plasma to treat COVID-19 patients, we’ve launched a limited-time scholarship opportunity for individual students who host a successful virtual blood drive and help us recruit blood donors. A student could earn up to a $1,000 scholarship if they help recruit enough blood donors. If you know of any graduating students or have a current student in college that might want to take advantage of this opportunity, please have them sign up on the link below. This is open to anyone…and we can have multiple virtual blood drives going on within a school. Each person applying for the scholarship has to have at least 30 successful donations. The virtual blood drive allows people to donate wherever they want and the donations can be made in any of the 20 states we serve. Vitalant is testing all donors for COVID-19 antibodies. If donors are positive, their plasma could be used to help treat patients suffering from COVID-19. The entire program, along with student eligibility and details, is outlined at vitalant.org/scholarship. In order to qualify, students must be a graduating high-school senior and/or enrolled in a trade school, two-year or four-year college or graduate program Students must be signed up to coordinate a virtual blood drive to qualify for the scholarship Scholarship credits are accumulated by donation type and a minimum of 30 credits unlocks a one-time $500 scholarship All donations must be completed by Feb. 28, 2021 to qualify Scholarships are paid to the school or institution; no funds will be paid directly to the student Students are encouraged to visit vitalant.org/scholarship to learn more, verify eligibility and submit their information for follow-up I’d love it if you could help me spread the word about this program because your students could benefit while they’re saving lives.
