Let's circle in and explore ekphrastic writing and somatic exercises together... This workshop will encompass two exercises for us to explore together-- a writing exercise to guide us through the ekphrastic writing form, a style of writing written in response to an existing work of art. You’ll be given prompts, pen and paper to then walk through the gallery in full bloom with new work displayed from a variety of artists and choose the piece you feel drawn to write about, making note of the color and texture, the smells and sounds, the feelings or memories that rise up as you take the work in. The somatic work will be woven within, offering exercises to connect into your body and take note of what you’re experiencing, creating space to allow or explore as you relax into yourself as you feel called.
