Liberated by Connection a Birthworker Brunch
Join us for Brunch as we connect, acknowledge and engage with one another as birth workers! Believe it or not, we all play a part in bringing a healthy human earthside. Professionals such as OB’s, midwives, nurses, doulas, lactation professionals and psychotherapists will all come together for a visual representation of a village. The purpose of this event is to bridge the gap in communication and discuss our roles as providers to birthing families in and around Philadelphia. This Bruch is an opportunity for connection, restoration and knowing more about one another. Local doulas will take this opportunity to openly discuss their role in the community which include barriers faced and optimism towards change.
We are putting this brunch together as a part of Black Maternal Health Week 22’ for us to connect, learn and grow together while having fun. Activities include speed dating; birthworker edition, breaking the ice/team building, panel discussion, resource sharing, tea blending to learn more about the healing properties of herbal tea and its place in the birthing community and a stunning welcoming performance by Temple University Vocal Instructor Najwa Parkins and accompanying students.
