Click here to learn more. Here are the top three stories in Roanoke today: Renowned Jazz singer Kat Edmonson is returning to Roanoke's Jefferson Center on Friday. She last played at the center in 2019 and her 2020 return was unfortunately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets to the performance are $30 with the 7:00 pm show already sold out. (Roanoke Times)Roanoke Valley Democrats held an event on Saturday in Kennedy Park to support local organizations. Donations were collected for Feeding Southwest Virginia and Ukrainians of the Roanoke Valley. Despite the organization's obvious political affiliation, they reportedly hope to host more events supporting local non-political organizations. (WSLS 10)The City of Roanoke has partnered with the Local Energy Alliance Program to offer more accessible affordable solar energy to local residents. The Solar Income Tax Credit will be dropping to 22 percent at the end of 2022 and Solarize Roanoke wants the community to take advantage of the program while the tax credit is at 26 percent.
