Hello there! Our bed and breakfast is looking for an experienced Groundskeeper to be the caretaker of our 3 acre property. We'd like someone to join our small team that really loves keeping a space beautiful for others to enjoy. A strong self motivator with an eye for detail. And of course, someone that works well with a small team, takes direction with ease, and is a strong communicator. A little bit about us. We're a small team that care for a historic home and property and welcome folks from all over to our wonderful town. We all work hard and love to be in the hospitality business. And when you work for us, you're treated like family and your personal life is valued. We're looking for someone available to work 5 days per week to include weekends. Spring through fall, you'll be working at least 30+ hours a week. If you're someone that wants to help improve our space, you can certainly rely on 40 hours of work per week it's really up to each person. And then in winter there are other types of projects to work on if you have other skills (painting, hardscaping, repairs) we have work! There's always plenty to do here! Job Description: You will be responsible for daily property cleanup before check-ins; caretaker of all trees, shrubs and all ornamentals, annual and perennial gardens. Mows lawns, trims weeds, and cleans up leaves in fall. Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges. Prepares soil and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs. Empties trash and recycling containers. Pressure washing, maintaining one outdoor hot tub. We have all of our own equipment and need your help to maintain tools and such. Assist with events with set up and clean up. Requirements: Strong background in landscaping or property management is a must, 3 years minimum. Since this is a Bed and Breakfast, a background in hospitality is a plus. You will be asked questions by the guests on a daily basis about the grounds, plants and light history of the estate. Experience working with hot tubs a plus. A valid driver's license required as well as a car for running to hardware store and plant nursery for products for the Inn. The ability to lift 50 lbs independently is required as well.
