On Sunday, County officials will hold a brief ceremony to rename the International Drive Road Race in honor of Robbie Jordan, the former Finance Director for Horry County Government that passed away in 2021. Going forward, this annual event will be named the Robbie Jordan Memorial Road Race.
The ceremony will take place at the starting line immediately before the start of the race, around 7:45 a.m., on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
The starting line is located on International Drive in front of Ocean Bay Elementary School.
Parking will be available at the International Drive Fields, part of the Horry County Parks and Recreation Department at 900 International Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579 and additional parking will be at Ocean Bay Middle School across the street from the baseball fields.
ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION
On the day of the event, International Drive will be closed between the International Drive Ballfields and Highway 90 beginning at 5 a.m. through the duration of the event, approximately 12 noon.
The Wheatfield Drive entrance to The Farm Subdivision located on International Drive will be closed beginning at 5 a.m. for the duration of the event.
