Description

Looking for a keyboard player, I got the keys, just bring your chops. Korg drawbar organ and Electric Piano (SV1). I got a lot of songs and jams, I write music with a baritone guitar, and said organ and electric piano, I need someone to take care of or share keyboard duties. Think Rhythm and blues, beatnik jazz, early R'N'R with a real edge, today's sound and (real) punk rock/garage rock power. Something like: Daddy Long Legs - Lowdown Ways/ Nick Waterhouse's first album - Time's All Gone, meets 90's Jon Spencers Blues Explosion and The Oblivians. Bo Diddley, Link Wray. Add to the mix some more obscure influences: the wild rhythms on early Beat Jazz, Jungle Exotica meets original punk energy: the Screamers, The Electric Eels. I've toured internationally, a lot, released plenty of records, got my jam space recently set up in Culver City with instruments and recording gear (tape machines and all) so making records once the music is going should be easy and low cost/cost free. My ideal starter band is a three piece: drums / percussion / keys / bari guitar / vocals to start it all, but any other musicians - upright bass - harmonica - percussion - horns - backup singers or whatnot, are all welcome to write. Thanks 'all *this post is adapted from an older post and after talking to a bunch of people here on Craigslist I feel I should add: - if you're too busy and don't have time to jam say once a week, schedule flexibility at your job to book gigs etc - why bother, right? - please don't write asking for demos, if the music listed in this post is your thing, let's meet. I don't feel that great about sending unpublished music to people I never met, but most importantly music is about the people, their style, their presence etc as much as it is about anything else, so, be it here at my jam space, the pub down the street or the coffee place near you, if you don't have an hour of your time to meet people you might be playing music with for years, this is likely a no go from the get go - peace yall
