Funny. Anytime a reporter would show you a screenshot of a Trump Tweet, or video of something he said (even in its entirety,) you screeched your mantra "fake news!" So please tell us why you believe and swallow whole what the media and old wives have told you about Russia? I hate to be the first to break this to you, but the U.S. gives less than a damn about Ukraine. Taiwan either. We funnel billions of our monies into them with absolutely no return. Except the knowledge that they are both thorns in the side of two competitive superpowers. And newsflash # 2. Little boys and girls in Russia are told that WE are demons. Those who are intellectually lazy I suppose grow up and live entire lives believing that, just as you do about them. For the most part, life in Russia is not significantly different then life here for you and me. Just like us, they can feel powerless over what the government does, not be happy with individual leaders, not feel they get a free shake in life. But just like us also, most live contented lives. Have you ever asked yourself why Edward Snowden would stay if life there was that terrible? Without Russia, the United States would not have won the second world war. Balanchine, Koussevitzky, Chekhov, Solzhenitsyn, Dostoevsky, Nureyev et al have had as much, possibly more influence on American culture than have Hemmingway, Frost and Williams. People are people. Why humans feel the need to find comfort in pigeon-holing, tenaciously living by a "we vs. them" mentality is unfathomable. It is what creates war in the first place.
