Mechanical Assembly/Pump Repair and Test

Boerger, LLC, an international leader in Rotary Lobe Pumps and Macerating Equipment, has an immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical Assembler. This position will report to the Production Manager. Primary Responsibilities 1. Assemble new equipment. a) Assemble pumps per customer specifications. Pull existing rotor if change is required and replace with rotor specified. Parts range from 1 to 100 pounds. Multiple parts may be required per assembly. Fasteners need to be manually torqued to up to 150 ft lbs. b) Attach and align any additional equipment needed to base frame. Equipment ranges in weight from 100 lbs. to 500 lbs. Overhead crane to be used on heavy items. Install couplings, belts and guards if required. Manual adjustment of equipment will be required. 2. Repair pumps returned from customers. a) Service pumps that are not working correctly. Remove and replace rotors, replace seals, replace bearings, clean and scrape surfaces, drain and refill oil reservoirs. b) Replace worn parts and test before shipping back to customer. c) Documentation reporting of the evaluation 3. Test stand operation a) Execute performance testing on equipment per customer request 4. Keep work area (bench, floor) clean and orderly throughout the day to ensure safe, clean working conditions. Job Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED and equivalent experience, post-secondary education is a plus • Pump or automotive repair experience desired • Good mechanical aptitude • Plans, prioritizes, multi-task and complete a variety of work assignments within deadlines • Fork lift experience desired • Occasional lifting of over 50lbs Benefits include Health, Disability and Life Insurance, 401K (company contribution), PTO and a positive work environment.
