1 Airlifted From Crash On I-95 In Harford County: Officials

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two people were hospitalized following a crash that snarled traffic on Interstate 95 in Harford County Wednesday for hours, according to officials. At one point, authorities said I-95 was closed for the emergency response. The two-vehicle crash occurred before 4:30 p.m. on I-95 north near the MD 24 exit, according to state transportation officials. Crews worked for 30 minutes to free one man who was trapped in the wreck, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, which conducted the rescue along with the Abingdon Fire Company. Officials said the victim was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in serious condition. Another crash victim was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment, Joppa-Magnolia reported. By 5:40 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported the two right lanes had reopened, and the wreck was on the left, where one lane remained blocked.
