SR-79 Closes Both Directions Due To Crash, Small Fire: Temecula

TEMECULA, CA — A crash on state Route 79 near Vail Lake in Temecula forced a closure of the busy roadway in both directions. The crash was reported at approximately 10:43 a.m. Wednesday on southbound SR-79, between Vail Lake and the Dripping Springs Fire Station, according to California Highway Patrol reports. A van reportedly overturned and caught fire, which spread onto nearby brush. The roadway was expected to be reopened by noon.
