Special Needs Lorikeet

Description

It is with a heavy heart that I must rehome my Green Nape Rainbow Lorikeet. He currently resides with my parents because my fiance is deathly allergic. My parents are older and I feel it is unfair to them to care for him with his special needs. He is a rescue bird and was plucked before I took him in. His prior owner fed him humming bird juice and most of the alopecia is from stress and malnutrition. He currently is eating Blessings powder nectar and drinks goya fruit nectars (anything but pear). He won't touch the liquid nectar that you mix yourself. He also eats iron free pellets from Messori. He has grown back some of his feathers with dietary supplements and red palm but will never grow them all back. I will ONLY rehome him to someone that is educated about lorikeets and understands the importance of their care. I will not respond to inquiries asking me to lower his adoption fee, or ridiculous questions about his care, and judgemental comments about the way he looks. Again, ONLY SERIOUS inquiries from serious people. I will be extremely choosy about who his new owner and they must understand that my asking fee may seem high but is actually nominal considering the inflation on the cost of exotic birds and their care. Lorikeets cost about $5000 currently. He will need a flight size cage and I have 3 available, one that was his for $200 each. His adoption fee is $600 ABSOLUTELY FIRM. $750 if you would like his flight cage with him. He will come with whatever remaining food, his bowls and toys. His name is Franky. Again, only serious inquiries. Thank you.
