Capitol Lab Band, an original music big band, is resuming rehearsals following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID19 Pandemic. We are now seeking interested trumpet, saxophone and piano players. Musicians must be fully vaccinated and boosted (if it has been six months since your second dose of Phizer or Moderna). If you enjoyed playing in jazz band in high school or college and want to keep your music side alive, or if you are a professional player looking for a break from typical dance and 'swing band' books, this is the band for you.* If you have composed or arranged charts and are looking for a group to play them with, this is also the band for you. Capitol Lab Band strives to showcase original compositions and arrangements from band members and from the community. Before the pandemic, we played twice at Blues Alley and played quarterly gigs at Mr. Henry’s in Capitol Hill. We hope to resume similar and more opportunities as we awake from our pandemic hibernation. Please reply to this ad for further information if you are interested. *CLB is a 'volunteer band'. While payment is offered for gigs, we cannot offer payment for rehearsals. However, there are no 'dues' to play with us!
