HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Multiple crashes were reported in Harford County Tuesday, according to officials. One resulted in several hospitalizations, and another drew hazmat crews.
A dump truck overturned and was leaking fuel in the 1800 block of East Wheel Road, the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association reported after 2 p.m.
Part of Wheel Road was closed as hazmat personnel handled the investigation, authorities said. That was not the only emergency response Tuesday afternoon.
Multiple people were taken to a regional trauma center by ambulance after a crash in Forest Hill, according to officials. The collision was in the 2900 block of Grier Nursery Road and resulted in the road closure.
"EMS calls have been active all day," the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association said in a statement Tuesday afternoon, asking people to "move over and slow down."
In addition to EMS activity, fire crews from Harford County traveled across the Pennsylvania line to York County Tuesday, where officials said firefighters helped battle a two-alarm structure fire.
