Seeking drummer for original band

We are an indie/pop/soul/rock-ish band, based in Madison. We're all in our 30's and play 95% original music. The occasional cover may be thrown in to help fill out a set, but the focus is definitely on writing original material. We've got an awesome female vocalist, an experienced guitarist, and a versatile keys player. Taking our time to find the right fit on a personal as well as a musical level. Looking to find someone close in age who has a solid work ethic, plays subtly and with dynamics, is not overly loud, and creates a deep pocket. We aim to gig 1-4 times per month, hopefully starting in the late spring or early summer, and practice at least bi-weekly (more likely once a week). We are not heavy, not obscure, but not trendy either. There is room for flourishes and a touch of improv, but most of these songs are built around pop-type structures and arrangements with a focus on doing it well. Hoping to find a player who is easygoing, likes to contribute to discussions about building songs, is punctual/reliable, and communicates during and in between sessions. Our sound is somewhere between Alabama Shakes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews, Lake Street Dive, and a smattering of influences ranging from jazz to hip hop, classic rock, soul, funk, jam, and dance music. The goal is to have fun, write great songs, play cool shows (mostly around the Madison area to begin), and to be able to hang near the top of the local level of talent. We've decided that we want to keep the age under 40 (I'm the old guy at 38).
