FALLSTON, MD — A Harford County school bus contractor has added a bright spot to the landscape in Fallston this holiday season.
Steven Davis, who owns James G. Davis Bus in Fallston, decorated what he has called a "Santa school bus" and illuminated it from dusk until dawn each day.
"We decided to dress up the school bus this year since unfortunately we are not in service," Davis said.
Students in Harford County Public Schools are learning virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Under normal circumstances, we would be using the units to transport our students," said Davis, who lives on a farm that was founded in 1929. His late grandmother, Betty Jo Davis, founded James G. Davis Bus Company there in 1970.
While his company has been in business for 50 years with Harford County Public Schools, this is the first year he has lit up one of the buses for the holidays.
Davis is already planning for how to continue the Santa bus project once things go back to normal.
"We have two spare buses and plan on using one to do this fun project for years to come," Davis said.
"All our neighbors and friends love it," Davis told Patch. "We didn't realize people loved school buses as much as we do."
The lights will be on from dusk to dawn, from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m. at 1715 Oakmont Rd., Fallston, MD 21047.
