It's a great day for EARTH DAY! Join us celebrating Earth day with tree planting and helping in the community garden in SW Baltimore. On April 16th, Cityfam is partnering with So What Else and the Westport CEDC to celebrate Earth day. Join us as we work in the Westport neighborhood to plant trees on Annapolis Road and work in the community garden in Mt Winans. Growing plants near roads slows, absorbs, and cleans water runoff. Thus, plants along roadsides reduce soil erosion, control flooding, and result in cleaner water supplies. Urban street trees also provide a canopy, root structure and setting for important insect and bacterial life below the surface. Children are welcome to join in the volunteer efforts in the community garden. Tools and refreshments will be provided.
