MPT Earns 8 Emmy Awards In Regional Competition

The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) presented Maryland Public Television (MPT) with eight Emmys during its 62nd Emmy® Awards ceremony on Saturday, August 8. The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of NATAS comprises television industry professionals dedicated to fostering and recognizing outstanding achievements in television production in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Its annual Emmy Awards competition acknowledges achievement in areas including entertainment programs, news and documentary shows, and sports programming. Over the course of its more than 50-year history, MPT has more than 170 regional Emmys out of 400 nominations, the Board of Governors Award (the regional NATAS chapter's highest honor), and four national Emmy Awards.
