Join the Black Delegation as we celebrate a few of our Unsung Heroes! Meet and socialize with the leaders driving our culture forward... Whether you agree with "the Slap heard 'round the World" or not, one thing we can agree on is the need for us to have a safe space to recognize, celebrate, and reward the people that help to truly move the needle in our culture. On Friday, April 22th, 2022 from 6-10pm, we intend to do just that! We are coming together to recognize the cultural innovators, grassroots leaders, and most of all Unsung Heroes of 8 different industries, culminating in a "Key to the Culture" award going to one of our local favorites, Tevin Studdard. For those unaware, Tevin began his run of highlighting business owners back in 2020 and single-handedly helped to raise awareness about the variety of black-owned and black-led organizations here in Indianapolis. With the help of increasingly popular social media outlets, most notable Black Dolla Indy, there has been an explosion of black entrepreneurship, patronage, and most importantly, connectivity throughout Indianapolis. Join "the village", as we graciously give flowers to a group of intrepid, accomplished and deserving individuals in the following disciplines: Demario Vitalis (of New Age Provisions Farm) - Agriculture and Science Dwayne Gibson (of Gip Got Tips) - Food Raimeka Graham (of Deer Run Elementary) - Education Anthoney Hampton - Youth Engagement and Development Richard "Sleepy" Floyd (of Native Sun) - Music Chef Tia Wilson (of Chicken Scratch) - Food Chris Thorpe (of Illusions Bar and Grill) - Entrepreneurship Pastor Wayne Moore (of The Morning Fellowship) - Politics Donte Moore (of DJ Long Green) - Music Robin Staten-Lanier (of Tiny Urban Escapes) - Architecture and Development Light refreshments and a cash bar will be provided throughout the night as we dance, laugh and recognize these individuals for their contributions to our village.
