Join us for an Earth Week celebration featuring artists, activists, organizations, food tastings, giveaways, and a keynote by Ron Finley. Join us for a very special Earth Week celebration featuring artists, activists, organizations, food tastings, and a presentation by the Gangsta Gardener, Ron Finley! The afternoon will open with a showcase and resource fair in front of Bovard Auditorium featuring campus and community organizations that are working to create a more sustainable world. In addition, USC students will share and display projects funded by USC’s Arts & Climate Collective that connect the arts, culture, and storytelling with environmental justice. The fair will also include sustainable food tastings and produce giveaways. The event continues inside Bovard at 6 p.m. with a welcome by USC President Carol L. Folt and a presentation about the Arts & Climate Collective’s crucial work. The event will culminate in an inspiring talk and conversation with Ron Finley, who inadvertently started a horticultural revolution when he transformed the barren parkway in front of his South Central L.A. home into an edible oasis and became one of L.A.’s most widely known artivists. He is now working on The Ron Finley Project, speaking locally, nationally, and internationally to help change how we eat and empower communities to transform food deserts into food sanctuaries.
