You will first learn how to make the mochi dough from scratch and using the traditional method of steaming the dough. We will also discuss a hack version of using the microwave which cuts down on cooking time by 10 times. Then you will learn tips-and-tricks of how to prepare the filling, including tips on making ice cream mochi at home! Lastly, I will share fool-proof technique from my family on how to wrap a mochi that is easy to do and not have sticky dough everywhere.
Since this is a dessert-only class, I will have some nibbles for you or feel free to bring snacks with you. It's also the perfect excuse to explore Georgetown after or before class.
