Description

Share your voice and shape our advocacy priorities. Bread for the World and the Southwest Pennsylvania Bread Team invite you to attend a 2023 Farm Bill Consultation Session to be held Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. Registration begins at 9:30 am. Next year, Congress will consider the Farm Bill: a comprehensive piece of legislation renewed every five years that is an essential tool in the effort to end hunger. The Farm Bill not only sets most U.S. agriculture policies, but also authorizes both federal nutrition assistance programs and humanitarian relief for hunger emergencies overseas. (For more information about the Farm Bill, please click here.) This Farm Bill Consultation is an opportunity for you to share your knowledge, experience, and judgement about what the Farm Bill should look like from the perspective of your organization, work, or lived experience. We will gather in both small groups and for a large group discussion to listen and learn from you about your perspectives on this critical Bill. Your opinions will help shape Bread for the World's 2023 Farm Bill platform. Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs, and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity at home and far beyond where we live. We organize with member congregations and allies across the country who care about hunger and want to take action to make a difference. Your voice is an important one for us to hear. Please RSVP by May 3. We look forward to seeing you on May 10.
