Description
Why are diverse companies more profitable and successful? Today, companies are defined by their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). What does it mean to your leadership, your management, your team? What role does diversity play in your business plan? Diverse companies make decisions faster, keep their employees longer and exhibit better empathy for clients. To better understand how we can instill these principles into everything we do, The Association for Women in Communication will address these and other important questions surrounding DEI with two experts in the field. Join this important discussion to see how you can bring these insights to bear in your company. Our moderator is Ashley Williams, founder and CEO of RIZZARR, a content-creating platform for consumer brands seeking to market their products to millennial customers. Currently an AWC Board member-at-large, Ashley regularly speaks at gatherings around the world for numerous entities such as the U.S. Department of State, on how can we can change to build an inclusive society. Nikki Pardo, Founder/CEO of Global Alliance Solutions, who this year launched a new organization - The Equity + Inclusion Coalition - for those who are transitioning into this area of expertise, with executive and emerging tracks. Ned Staebler, President/CEO at TechTown, Detroit advocate and business leader, will share his thoughts on the positive effect of DEI on a company’s bottom line. This is an in-person meeting in a large conference room where social distancing will be possible. Masks are welcome but not mandated. 5:45 Networking and dinner 6:45 Welcome and introductions 7:00 Program start 8:00 Additional networking Wednesday, April 20 5:45-8:00 p.m. Tech Town, 440 Burroughs, Detroit 48202 Members $35, Guests $25, Students $15 Thank you to our Chapter sponsors Downtown Berkley, Crain's Detroit Business, Catalyst Media Factory, Detroit Aesthetic Company and Memory Health for helping make this event possible.
