LANSDOWNE, MD — The bomb squad was called to Walmart Monday afternoon in Lansdowne Station. The superstore remained open as a section of the parking lot was cordoned off with yellow tape, while investigators looked into a report of a suspicious circumstance. "It was not a bomb. It was just a package that was left out there by mistake," Julia Hardgrove of the Baltimore County Police Department told Patch. At 1:27 p.m., she said police were called to the 3600 block of Washington Boulevard for a suspicious circumstance. "Somebody left something in the parking lot when loading the car up," Hardgrove said. "It just looked suspicious," she said, adding that ultimately: "Everything was safe." Customers streamed in and out of the store, where a section of the parking lot was taped off outside the garden center. Baltimore County police cruisers sat, lights on, as bookends around the area during the investigation. The police department was clearing the scene by about 3:45 p.m., Hardgrove said.
