ROSELAND, NJ — A woman stole close to $1 million worth of medical equipment from her former Bergen County employer and then re-sold it, Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Detectives began investigating Jacqueline M. Riley, 32, of Roseland in December 2021 after someone filed a complaint against her, Musella said. The complainant said Riley had been involved in stealing from the employer, according to Musella. Investigators found that Riley stole about $1 million worth of equipment and pocketed the money she made reselling the equipment, Musella said. She also defrauded several medical reseller businesses by getting partial payments from buyers and never sending them the equipment, according to Musella. Detectives arrested Riley on Tuesday, March 29, Musella said. She has been charged with second-degree theft, second-degree theft by deception, and second-degree fencing, Musella said.
