Description
Press release from Town of Windham:
March 30, 2022
It's time again for spring clean-up and, before we know it, Memorial Day preparations at the Windham Cemeteries. We ask all lot owners to assist by removing all holiday decorations from their areas no later than May 1, 2022; along with any other items that may be prohibited that were not disposed of during the fall clean-up. Please refer to the Rules and Regulations of the cemeteries regarding those types of items/activities that are prohibited. The regulations are available on the Town website or, you may visit the Administrative Office at 4 North Lowell Road for a hard copy.
Any such items remaining after this date may be subject to disposal by Cemetery staff. In addition, any obviously neglected plantings and bushes – or those that have been planted contrary to the Regulations – may be trimmed and/or removed as deemed necessary.
As a reminder to all, the water system at the Plains cemeteries was replaced in the fall, and should be turned on and operational within the next few weeks. As has been the case since fall of 2020, when the second tank irreparably failed, there is no longer water available at the Hill.
As always, the Trustees extend their sincere thanks for your cooperation in keeping our cemeteries as safe, natural and attractive as possible. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
